On Thursday, April 25, Shiloh will present an interpretive program on the ancient history of the area. This program will consist of a 3-4 mile hike from the Shiloh Indian Mound complex along the Tennessee River and south into the bottomland forest near Brown's Landing. The program will interpret Native American culture in the 1200s through the 1400s. Learn about the foods they ate, the medicines they used, and the life they lived. Meet the ranger at the Indian Mound Shelter at 2:00 pm. Hikers should wear appropriate clothing and footwear for weather conditions and provide their own water. Insect repellent is also recommended.
