On Saturday June 25th and Sunday June 26th, members of Tarrant's Alabama Battery will be presenting living history demonstrations. The original artillery battery fought in the Civil War, in such battles as Kennesaw Mountain, Peach Tree Creek, Franklin, and Nashville. In order to provide the public an idea of how artillery would have functioned during Civil War battles, the men will fire the pieces, demonstrating the correct firing procedures. Along with the loading and firing of the black-powder Civil War artillery, a period camp will be set up for the public to visit. The camp will consist of tents and camp equipage used by the common soldiers. Visitors are welcome to visit the camps and talk to the reenactors to learn more about the western volunteer soldier in the Civil War. The demonstrations will be presented at Tour Stop #4, Ruggles' Battery, on the automobile tour route. The demonstration times, excluding any unforeseen problems, will be as follows.
