Advanced Trips

You will probably want to create your own routes, and are very welcome to do so. If you are looking for solitude, virtually any off-trail area will be empty as long as you avoid the boundary, developed areas, and Old Rag. You can generally find on-trail solitude by hiking down a one-way trail with no publicized destination. If solitude isn’t your prime consideration, remember that even popular hiking routes often have out-of-the-way places to pristine camp if you venture off trail.

If you prefer a detailed route, we have a few Advanced Level trip plans and some Winter Trips. Of course, you can use any of the Intermediate Level hikes as well.
