Shenandoah National Park Junior Ranger DaySuperintendent Chas Cartwright is inviting children of all ages to take part in the first National Junior Ranger Day on Saturday, April 28. The Junior Ranger program is designed to engage children and families in the stories embodied in their national parks. Children can attend ranger-led programs and complete activity books that lead them through the park in a kid-friendly way and are drawn to parts of the park story that they can relate to.
Fun filled activities will take place in the Byrd Visitor Center area between 10 am and 4:30 pm. Children that attend two activities will receive a Junior Ranger Day button or certificate, and a 20% discount coupon for any one item at the Byrd Visitor Center Bookstore. In addition, children can complete additional activities to receive a Junior Ranger Day Patch or Pin.
