Each year Student Conservation Association (SCA) interns assist in offering programs to school groups visiting Shenandoah National Park. If you are interested in working as an SCA intern at Shenandoah National Park or another location, contact the Student Conservation Association at (603) 543-1700 for information on how to apply. SCA is a nonprofit, educational organization, which provides high school and college students and other adults the opportunity to volunteer their services for the better management and conservation of our nation's parks, public lands, and natural and cultural resources. Shenandoah National Park also hires teenagers to work as members of the Youth Conservation Corps. The Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) is a summer employment program for young people ages 15 through 18, who work on projects that further the development and conservation of natural resources on federal lands. Students complete maintenance and trail projects, and earn minimum wage. If you are interested in applying for a YCC position, contact the Education Office at (540) 999-3488. | |
