Day 15:  Further Investigations

At Chimney 4, half the firebox has been excavated to reveal a poured tabby hearth. Removal of the poured tabby allows the investigators to understand the chimney construction sequence.  Meanwhile, shovel testing continues over the entire site area.  Here, Archeology Technicians John Kilgo and Jason Kelly carry on the     necessary testing. At the end of the day artifacts and notes are processed and entered into the Field Specimen Log.
