Outdoor Activities

Salt River Bay offers opportunities for recreation and relaxation. Ask your lodging hosts for information about guided land tours. Scuba diving, snorkeling, kayaking, and hiking tours can also be arranged. When the visitor contact station at Salt River Bay is closed, information may be obtained at the National Park Service visitor contact station at Fort Christiansvaern, Christiansted National Historic Site. The site is open from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. on weekends and holidays.

Did You Know?
The 350 foot submarine canyon at the entrance to Salt River Bay, with its diversity of deep water coral and unique geologic features (such as caverns, grottoes, ledges, and caves) is one of few such features found world wide.
