Charmlee Wilderness Park includes picnic areas, native plant displays, a nature center, and more than eight miles of hiking trails. Programs include a volunteer docent program, school and group nature programs, and a variety of public hikes and interpretive programs.

Pacific Coast Hwy, about 3 miles south of Ventura County line. Turn inland on Encinal Canyon Rd, 4 miles to park entrance on the left side of road.

A study that began in 2002 reveals a lion and his offspring are surviving in the Santa Monica Mountains. Radio collars track them crossing roads and navigating through open spaces. Their future is uncertain, but with conservation efforts, they may continue to make these mountains their home.
