Brand New Position For High School Students!!!

There are currently three openings.

General Information

Learn about your field of study and gain real world job experience while completing an internship with the National Park Service at Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area.

General Requirements

- Junior or Senior level high school student
- The student should have an interest in plants, animals, outdoors recreation or Native American history.
- The time commitment is 4 hours per week on weekends.

Four state parks were the triumph of a grassroots movement to protect open spaces minutes from Los Angeles in the 1950s & 60s. Three women, Sue Nelson, Jill Swift, and Margo Feuer further galvanized the movement that helped make Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area a reality in 1978.
