Teacher to Ranger to Teacher

Park rangers can bring a unique type of excitement to a national park!

Are you a teacher interested in being a National Park Service ranger during the summer?

Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area is seeking dynamic teachers to work as park rangers for six to eight weeks during the summers. Teachers in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties are encouraged to apply.

Join us as part of the national “Teacher to Ranger to Teacher” Program!

Duties include working as park rangers to develop curriculum- based climate change materials, staff visitor contact stations, assist with public and outreach programs, and take on other projects. During the school year, Teacher Rangers will bring the park resources "into the classroom" by drawing on their summer’s experience.
