Professional Development

Ranger Anela talks with students about the Santa Monica Mountains on a ranger-led hike.

Teachers inspire us to learn about the world around us. They share stories, insights, and encourage us to take care of this place we call home.

However, teachers can be students too! The National Park Service in the Santa Monica Mountains offers a plethora of opportunities for teachers to learn about their local national park during the summer months.

Programs such as Workshops for Teachers or the national Teacher-Ranger-Teacher program give our educators even more tools they can use in the classroom as they strive to connect our two greatest assets, our students and our national parks.

Visit the pages listed above to learn more about these special programs.
