Be a Junior Ranger in the Park

Weaving Cultures: A Junior Ranger Program is for kids between the ages of 8 and 13. However, visitors of all ages are invited to learn about our park! Junior Rangers get a workbook on the past and present Chumash living in the Santa Monica Mountains. After completing three sections of the book, they are awarded a Junior Ranger patch unique to the Santa Monica Mountains.

Junior Rangers who want to explore more can earn Ocean, Valley, and Mountain Junior Ranger pins. Earn your pins by going to programs listed in the Outdoors Calendar of Events. After earning all three pins, you are a Mountain Junior Ranger, the highest ranking Junior Ranger in the Santa Monica Mountains!

Visit one of our Visitor Centers to get your FREE book.
