For many students, hands-on activities are a great way to reinforce work done in the classroom

Visiting Salem Maritime National Historic Site is a memorable experience. A visit to the park engages all the senses, and the resources available here can be used to teach lessons in history, geography, mathematics, economics, and literature among many other subjects.

The education staff at the park have developed many programs to help students experience the park and reinforce their school curriculum:

Salem Maritime National Historic Site charges fees for all ranger-guided and curriculum-based education programs. Grant funding may be available to support participation in our programs for schools from Salem and Essex County, Massachusetts.

Reservations are required for programs and orientation films and must be made well in advance.

Reservations for Spring 2012 will open January 2, 2012.
