Amigos de los Fuertes del Viejo San Juan assists the National Park Service in its mission to preserve, protect and maintain San Juan National Historic Site by raising funds and public awareness, and by providing volunteers for needed projects.

George Clifford

The only succesfull attack against the San Juan NHS fortifications was in 1598. Sir George Clifford, Earl of Cumberland led the British attack and occupied the island for 33 days.
