Now that school is over, do you need a local and accessible place to visit and enjoy?San Juan National Historic Site will be offering free entrance to Castillo San Cristóbal and Castillo San Felipe del Morro on Tuesday, June 21, as part of the National celebration of the first day of summer.Come and visit the many historical exhibits, hear the fortifications' orientation talks, watch the park movie and take a stroll on the grounds at El Morro and the Paseo del Morro."June 21 offers families an opportunity to enjoy the history and beauty of their park without touching their budgets," says Superintendent Walter J. Chavez.You are invited to come out to enjoy a summer day filled with fun and education for free at the San Juan National Historic Site.

You may also take advantage of the Lelolai Festival on this same Tuesday (and other Tuesday's as well).This musical and dancing performance, starting at 6:00PM, will take place on Plaza Norzagaray adjacent to Castillo San Cristóbal.

As part of a major restoration of our historic cistern system, Castillo San Cristóbal will be without electricity for most of the day.The main entrance and visitor center will have power so that you can enjoy the movie and bookstore.

San Juan National Historic Site is comprised of Castillo San Felipe del Morro, Castillo San Cristóbal, Fort San Juan de La Cruz (El Cañuelo), the San Juan Gate, and most of the City Wall. The site is open every day except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day, from 9:00AM to 6:00PM and until 7:00pm on Tuesdays when the Lelolai Festival is held in the main plaza, San Cristóbal.Admission to San Juan NHS is $3 for adults for one fortification and $5 for both; free for those 15 and under.
