Fourth of July 2009
Fourth of July 2009The Fourth of July parade in Friday Harbor, Washington, aside from the county fair, is the biggest event of the year, attracting thousands from throughout the Puget Sound and Northern Straits regions. The park's 1860s Color Guard, composed of park staff and volunteers, is usually at the head of the parade behind the American Legion and draws some of the biggest cheers of the day. |
Did You Know?
The English Camp barracks was originally used as the privates' mess until extended in 1867. During the restoration process in the early 1970's a pot of gold coins and currency was found in the attic. The treasure belonged to the Crook family, who settled on the site in 1875.
