Not sure how to tell a blue jay from a bluebird? Leave the on-line tweets behind and come listen to the real twitters of birds! Join our naturalist on a leisurely hike along the trails of Sagamore Hill in Oyster Bay. Theodore Roosevelt had a lifelong interest in birds and nature, and on Father’s Day of 1910, he compiled a list of the birds that he saw here in Oyster Bay. We will look for some of the same kinds of birds that he identified - and maybe a few that he never saw! The walk will take place at 10:00 a.m., and a children’s bird craft activity will be available from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Meet at the Visitor Center at 10:00 a.m. Wear appropriate clothes and shoes for a moderate hike along serene woodland paths. Bring binoculars and a field guide, and learn the basics of birding.
