Sagamore Hill National Historic Site is offering a National Park Ranger talk and walk titled "The Last Days of Theodore Roosevelt: An American Icon." This program is held at the Christ Episcopal Church and at Youngs Memorial Cemetery beginning at 3:00 pm every Sunday during July and August. Visitors will be able to see the Roosevelt family church pew and memorial plaques in the church and relive the events surrounding the President's funeral in the very church where his funeral was held. After the ranger talk in the church visitors will then meet at Youngs Cemetery on Cove Road for a short walk to see the president's grave and hear the story of Theodore Roosevelt's final interment.

This program is in addition to the popular "A Stroll through TR's Oyster Bay," which begins on Sundays in July and August at 2 p.m. in the Oyster Bay hamlet's Long Island Rail Road parking lot. This walk highlights buildings and locations that were important in the life and times of Theodore Roosevelt. Participants may wish to take advantage of both guided tours, which are free of charge and each last approximately one hour.

Christ Church is located at 61 East Main Street. Visitors may park in the Oyster Bay Library parking lot which is located next to the church if wishing to take only in "The Last Days of Theodore Roosevelt: An American Icon" program.
