  • High Desert Temperatures

    Desert temps are over 100 degrees with extremely low humidity. Drink water before you hit the trails, and during your hike drink a quart of water per hour and some form of electrolytes to replace minerals your body needs. Wear a hat and sunscreen. More »

The Big Chill

We all know the reptiles are hibernating for the winter, but what do the plants and all the other animals that are so well adapted to the desert’s heat and aridity, do in the winter?

Join volunteer naturalist Pinau Merlin for a peek into what’s happening in the SonoranDesert during our winter chill.  Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling 733-5153.
