Tucson, AZ – Saguaro National Park will be joining national park units across the country in celebrating Veterans' Day with fee-free entry into the park.

The 401 units of the National Park System preserve and protect many of the country's most significant scenic and cultural places. Visit www.nps.gov for information on National Park Service battlefields, military parks and historic sites that commemorate the service of American veterans.

The fee-free designation applies only to Veterans' Day, November 11.

Please be aware that work is continuing inside the Rincon Mountain Visitor Center (east) as the park is installing a new permanent exhibit collection. The RMD (east) visitor center will remain open and staff will be available to assist with information, trail recommendation and annual pass sales. The orientation video and exhibit room remain closed. The Red Hills Visitor Center in the Tucson Mountain District (west), and the popular auditorium video program, remains open and unaffected by the work happening in the east district this week.

Park visitors are reminded that the fee-free designation applies to entrance fees only and does not affect fees for camping. Visitor centers will have Saguaro Annual Passes, along with Interagency Senior and Annual Passes available for those who wish to purchase them.  Active military personnel and their dependents are encouraged to request a free annual pass to all Federal Recreation sites, which can be issued at either district of the park.

For more information on Saguaro National Park, please visit the park's web site at www.nps.gov/sagu. And for more on national park fee free days, go to www.nps.gov/findapark/feefreepark.htm.
