Tucson, AZ – Saguaro National Park will be joining along with other national park units across the country to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with a fee-free entry into the park on Monday, January 19.

Visitors arriving in the park on Monday will be allowed to enter free of charge. Those who plan to spend time in the park beyond January 19 will need to pay the regular $10.00 entrance fee for the remainder of their stay.

"This is just one small way that we can honor the contributions of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. to our nation by encouraging people to visit their national parks and what they mean to the fabric of America," said Saguaro Superintendent Darla Sidles.

Western National Parks Association will honor the holiday with a 15% discount on all bookstore items in both visitor centers.

Park visitors are also reminded that the fee-free designation applies to entrance fees only and does not affect fees for camping. Park entrance stations and visitor centers will have Saguaro Annual Passes, along with Interagency Senior, Active Military, and Annual Passes available for those who wish to purchase them.
