Alcatraz Island

To purchase ferry boat tickets to visit Alcatraz Island go to Pier 31½. From the entrance to Hyde Street Pier it is about a twelve block walk to the east along Jefferson Street which turns into The Embarcadero. Pier 31½ is located where Bay Street intersects The Embarcadero.

Alcatraz is part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.

Did You Know?
When you are on Hyde Street Pier, try and find Stretch, the pier cat. She might be on the pier or taking a nap aboard one of the vessels. Clue: She loves a spot in the sun, or a little hide-away. Good Luck!
