San Francisco Maritime National historical Park celebrates the 25th season of the nation’s longest-running concert series of its kind with three concerts featuring some of the world’s finest performers of seafaring songs. Experience the driving rhythms of shipboard work songs, and the beauty of ballads and instrumentals, aboard the 1886 Glasgow-built sailing ship Balclutha.

All concerts are held aboard Balclutha, berthed at Hyde Street Pier on San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf.

Tickets: $14 general, $12 San Francisco Maritime National Park Association members. Season ticket: All three concerts for $36 (general and member).

Brian Peters is one of England’s most accomplished performers of traditional folk songs and instrumental music. Accompanying himself on concertina, Brian has toured Britain, Australia, New Zealand, the USA and Canada, and has a number of recordings to his credit.

This trio from Quebec’s capital, Robert and Gabrielle Bouthillier, and Liette Remon, sing centuries-old songs of seafarers and seafaring communities. Their stunning harmonies have wowed audiences at sea music festivals and concerts in Canada, Europe, and the USA. 

John Roberts and Debra Cowan. Saturday, November 16 8pm $14 general, $12 members. Ticket information; 415-561-6662, ext. 21, or hnielsen@maritime.org.

On tour from the East Coast, and accompanying themselves on guitar and concertina, John and Debra sing traditional and contemporary songs from across the English speaking world. Known on both sides of the Atlantic as solo performers, they have teamed up as a touring duo since 2009.
