CHRISTMAS AT SEA
Saturday, December 8, 3:00 - 4:45pm. Aboard Balclutha. Ships admission fees apply: $5 adults, ages 15 and under, free. Free with national park passes. Wheelchair accessible. Information: 415-447-5000.
This special holiday celebration features live music by the Dogwatch Nautical Band performing chanteys and sea songs with a holiday twist, refreshments, ornament making, a reading of a popular Christmas story, and a special visit from Santa Claus, who has booked his trip to San Francisco and will arrive by boat to the park. As the band concludes its performance, park ranger Carol Kiser will read from The Night Before Christmas. Right after, we expect Santa's arrival (around 4:20) and he will listen to children's wishes until the celebration ends at 4:45.

OLD TIME MARITIME CHRISTMAS
Saturday, December 8, 6:00pm - 9;00pm, on Hyde Street Pier and aboard historic vessels. Wheelchair accessibility varies. Information on program, accessibility and reservations: 415-447-5000.
The park's costumed Living History players present the annual old Time Maritime Christmas, bringing maritime history to life in this unique holiday program. Turn back the clock to Christmas in the year 1901, where you will meet and talk with captains, wives, passengers and crews aboard historic vessels at Hyde Street Pier. Lamplit guided tours by costumed night watchmen leave every 20 minutes from the pier entrance from 6;00pm with the last tour beginning 7:40pm. With the lights of San Francisco twinkling in the background, the historic ships and costumed characters offer a memorable holiday experience!

YOUR NEW PARK GUIDES
We welcome two new Park Guides to our interpretive team, Norm Coy and Daniel Rosenberg. Park Guides conduct interpretive programs and staff the Hyde Street Pier ticket booth.
Norm Coy is a California native who recently arrived at the park to learn about the origins of the Golden State and its rich maritime history. Graduating from Humboldt State University with a degree in resource Planning and Interpretation prompted him to explore a variety of positions with the National Park Service, the most recent of which was a most rugged assignment as a backcountry ranger in Rocky Mountain National Park. Norm is looking forward to expanding his horizons in 20th Century naval history as he moves along the waterfront to encompass the WWII Liberty ship USS Jeremiah O'Brien and the WWII submarine USS Pampanito in the coming months.
