Nine Mile Point
The Santa Fe Trail passed through Nine Mile Point. In 1823, the official survey of the Santa Fe Trail began, and surveyors laid down their chains, arriving at this point and making note of the "trace" of the trail leading off toward Santa Fe. It was the earliest government documentation of any place on the trail. Click here to view the two exhibits (1 MB, pdf).
