Saint Croix Island International Historic Site
Fire Management

These documents provide wildland fire management guidance for Saint Croix Island International Historic Site. National Park Service (NPS) policy requires that all NPS units with vegetation capable of sustaining fires develop fire management plans. The following documents fulfill those policy requirements and implement fire management goals to protect human safety, protect facilities and cultural resources, perpetuate natural resources and their processes, and perpetuate cultural and historic scenes.

Did You Know?
There are no visible traces of the early settlement left on Saint Croix Island, today part of Saint Croix Island IHS. When the decision was made to move the expedition to Port Royal, most of the buildings were dismantled, put onto the ships and moved and erected at the new site.
