Enjoy the day with a self-guided, 6-mile paddle down the historic and scenic St. Croix River. State park naturalists, park rangers, and volunteer artisans will be available at stops along the way to share stories of the river valley, its unique geology, and other great natural resources found here. Participants should start their trip between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. at either Wisconsin Interstate State Park or Minnesota Interstate State Park. Get a passport booklet at the beginning of the trip to be stamped along the way in order to recieve a special reward at the end. All stations are free and open to the public. They include a diving demo, northwoods logging, geology of the St. Croix Dalles, freshwater mussels, and bird banding.
At Osceola Landing, where the Sojourn ends, there will be additional stations about kayaking, low impact camping, the Voyageurs, digital scavenger hunts, water bugs, and the opportunity for kids to become a Junior Ranger. The activities at Osceola Landing are accessible to those without a watercraft and will go from 11a.m.-4:30p.m.
