October is Archaeology Month. Join us in a fun-filled day to learn more about archaeology and its importance in understanding our past, and the need to preserve and protect America's and the world's treasures.

Some of the activities include Building an Arch, Spear-throwing, Rock Wall Art, and reconstuction of "artifacts". Other activities include making Cornhusk Dolls, Grinding Wheat and Corn, and Flintknapping. A movie, museum, guided tours, and giftshop are also available.

Co-sponsored by UTSA (ITC & CAR), San Antonio River Authority, San Antonio Office of Historic Preservation, San Antonio Museum of Art, Southwest Texas Archaeological Society, Texas Historical Commission, Southern Texas Archaeological Association, and Texas Parks & Wildlife Department.
