Name of Victim from Saturday Lightning Incident Released

The man who died yesterday from the lightning incident at Rainbow Curve in Rocky Mountain National Park is Gregory Cardwell, 52, from Scottsbluff, Nebraska.

The Larimer County Coroner's office will determine the cause of death.

There were questions late yesterday related to the different numbers of injured persons being reported.  Our information is based on the number of people who left by ambulance from the park, which was a total of four, including the man who later died. There were others who transported themselves to the Estes Park Medical Center for further medical assistance.
