Join Rock Creek Conservancy and the National Park Service celebrate MLK day of service by removing English Ivy from the trees in Rock Creek Park. This event will take place all along Rock Creek Parkway in Washington, DC. Volunteers will cut ivy from tree trunks using hand tools. Tools, gloves, and training on how to identify and cut English ivy will be provided. If you have hand clippers or loppers, feel free to bring them. Ages 16 and up.

Dress and Pack: Please dress for the weather, bugs, and thorns, by wearing long pants and long sleeve shirts that can get dirty. Dressing in layers is always the best option. Wear sturdy boots or sneakers, no sandals. Bring a small backpack with water! Students eligible to participate can earn SSL hours.
Meeting Location: We will meet along Rock Creek Park Trail where the exercise Course begins. The nearest intersection is where the Rock Creek and Potomac Parkway split into Beach Drive and 24th Street. The meeting point is metro accessible through the Woodley Park- Zoo Metro Stop (Red line)
