![]() VOLUNTEER Volunteers play an important part in the daily operations of the Carter Barron Amphitheater at Rock Creek National Park and there are many exciting opportunities. You must have a pleasant and positive personality necessary for public contact work and be willing to work days, nights, weekends, and/or rotating schedules. Training will be provided where necessary. Volunteer uniform shirts or appropriate dress will be required. Volunteers must be high school age or older. Remember, the Carter Barron Amphitheatre is an outdoor venue and many of the volunteer opportunities will require you to work outdoors. The following opportunities are available on most weekends during the summer season (June August): Usher Volunteer: Greet patrons and take tickets at the front gates or assist patrons in the theater with directions and information. Must arrive 15 minutes prior to the opening of the theater gates. Appropriate dress or volunteer uniform shirt will be required and you must be people-friendly. Hospitality Volunteer: Assist Production Coordinator and backstage staff with hospitality set-up and break-down including food, beverage, and towels. Theater black and volunteer shirt (provided on loan) are required and you must be people-friendly. Stage Hand: Assist Production Coordinator and/or Stage Manager with stage changes, loading/unloading instruments and equipment, and lifting equipment up to 40 lbs. Theater black and volunteer shirt (provided on loan) are required and you must be fast on your feet and able to take direction easily. General Volunteer: Assist Production Coordinator or Site Coordinator with weekday projects or clerical duties. Depending on your interests, computer skills or tool skills are helpful. There are no uniform requirements for this volunteer position.
