There are
several seasonal employment opportunities available at the Carter
Barron Amphitheatre, Rock Creek National Park. Seasonal (or temporary)
positions usually run from late June to late August. The Carter Barron
Amphitheatre is an outdoor venue and many of the positions require
work outdoors. Knowledge and understanding of theater operations,
procedures, and practices is required.
Job vacancies

As a condition
of employment, positions require you to:
1. have a pleasant and positive personality necessary for public contact
work,
2. be willing and able to work nights, weekends, and rotating schedules,
3. new employees of the Department of the Interior must identify a
financial institution for direct deposit of net pay within 30 days
of entrance on duty,
4. candidates must meet, by the closing date of the vacancy announcement,
the Office of Personnel Management's qualification standard for the
position including time-in-grade requirements,
5. wear prescribed uniform shirts (on loan),

Theater Specialist/Production Coordinator: Duties include
producing and coordinating all aspects of performances from contract
through show day, planning all stage activities, directing crews/staff,
dealing with artists/managers, monitoring contractors/vendors, moving
equipment, and performing minor maintenance. Knowledge of principles,
techniques, tools, safety, and equipment associated with outdoor amphitheatres
is necessary.
Theater Tech/Stage Manager: Duties include day of concert
stage set up, monitoring stage activities, directing crews, set changes,
moving equipment, greeting artists, load-outs, and storage of equipment.
You must be fast on your feet, work with vendors/contractors, able
to lift heavy equipment, and able to work in stressful situations.
Knowledge of basic principles, techniques, tools, and equipment associated
with outdoor amphitheatres is necessary.

Box Office Clerk: Duties include day of concert distribution
of free tickets, distribution of paid tickets using computerized ticketing
system, answering telephone inquiries, handling cash, and dealing
with the public.
Usher: Duties include day of concert greeting of amphitheatre visitors,
ticket taking, performing bag checks, and providing theatre information
and directions. Must be able to work with the public in sometimes-stressful
situations.
Theater Tech/Stage Crew: Duties include day of concert
stage setup, set changes, hospitality, moving equipment, greeting
artists, load-outs, and storage of equipment. Special weekday work
projects are also available. You must be fast on your feet and able
to lift heavy equipment. Knowledge of basic principles, techniques,
tools, and equipment associated with outdoor amphitheatres is necessary.
