Directions

The park is located on Campobello Island in New Brunswick, Canada. The customs station is located at the southern end of the island. Car is the best way to travel to the park; there is no public transportation available.

By Car
From Boston take I-95 north to Bangor, Maine. Take Route 1A east to Ellsworth, then follow Route 1 east to Whiting Village. Take Route 189 to Lubec and cross the FDR Memorial Bridge to Campobello Island. The visitor center is located approximately two miles from the bridge.

By Plane
The nearest full service airports are located in Bangor, Maine; St. John, New Brunswick; and Fredericton, New Brunswick. Car rentals are available at these airports.

By Ferry
During the summer, a car ferry travels from Deer Island, NB, to Campobello Island.

Did You Know?

Fishing nets set in Friar Bay.

Fishing remains the principal industry on Campbello Island, just as it was during FDR's era. Along the park's western shores, you can see herring weirs and nets holding farm-raised salmon.
