Getting Around

Start your visit at the Civil War Visitor Center at Tredegar Iron Works, located at 470 Tredegar Street in downtown Richmond. Park rangers will provide maps for touring the battlefields. Cassette tapes and CDs for the Seven Days battles around Richmond, 1862, are available for sale at the Civil War Visitor Center's book store.

The first Marine Corps Medal of Honor was awarded to Corporal John Mackie for his conduct aboard the USS Galena at the battle of Drewry’s Bluff, May 15, 1862.
