Southeastern Maricopa County

Queen Creek, AZ 85242

With a $935,000 grant from the National Park Service’s Land & Water Conservation Fund, the Town of Queen Creek transformed a 35-acre brownfield (a former landfill) into an equestrian facility with four arenas and extensive amenities for park visitors, both horse and human. The park can host events of both English and Western styles year-round, from show jumping competitions to roping, team penning, barrel racing, and cutting contests. The park opened in 2009, and the same year received the Arizona Parks & Recreation Association Award, recognizing new outstanding park, recreation, or cultural facilities.
