Fort Mill, South Carolina
The Rivers, Trails, and Conservation Assistance Program of the National Park Service has been working closely with the Nation Ford Greenway to develop a 30-mile loop trail system around the town of Fort Mill, SC. Accomplishments to date include a key trailhead that provides access to the proposed Carolina Thread Trail, a network of greenways and conserved lands that will link 15 counties surrounding Charlotte, NC. Altogether, this new system of trails will one day connect approximately 2.3 million people to cities, attractions, and natural areas across a 7,300 square-mile expanse of Carolina borderlands, making it easier for everyone to get outside!
