Over the summer, Palo Alto Battlefield NHP was transformed into a mini film studio as Cadette Girl Scouts created two videos promoting the park. These young directors spent two weeks touring the park, participating in educational activities, and interviewing a variety of park rangers about their careers. The Scouts then wrote scripts, filmed scenes and edited clips for the videos which were posted on the NPS Youth Program and Palo Alto Facebook pages. Their work earned these Scouts a MEdia Journeys badge.

A Teacher-Ranger-Teacher, Sandra McGarrough, conducted the program. Sandra "learned so much working with the Girl Scouts" and plans to use her experience to teach her High School students to create PowerPoint presentations.
