Carlsbad Caverns NP provides transportation to 4th graders in the area to come and explore the natural wonders of the caverns.   This curriculum based program allows the students to use their senses and imagination to investigate the Chihuahuan desert and the cave.  Students use their senses to find clues and identify several different habitats on the surface and throughout the cave.  Students also name different animals that would be found in the various habitats identified.  They find evidence left behind by early explorers and use their imaginations to explore what it may have been like to visit the cave in the early 1900's.   Students learn and identify the different types of formations found in the cave and are encouraged to use their imagination to see images in the rocks.  These experiences provide the students with the opportunity to search for clues to unlock the secrets of the cave.
