In order to empower park employees to use critical thinking skills when completing daily task, the park has provided Operational Leadership training to over 25% of the park staff. This two-day course provides employees with the knowledge and skills needed to assess risk management and idenitfy threats to their and coworkers safety. In addtion, employees are taught to use the GAR (Green, Amber, Red) risk management analysis tool to determing specific mitigation measures that can be taken. The course also provides employees with tools for assessing the risk of injury for any task, the SPE model (Severity x Probablity x Exposure).
