GETTING READY FOR 2016:

A Call to Action
Action Item:
Play it Safe
Year Accomplished:
2012

Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks have trained over 400 people in Operational Leadership averaging 2 to 3 classes a year. The parks also conduct three orientation/refresher training's each year and encourage divisions to use Green Amber Red (GAR) and Severity Probability Exposure (SPE) as part of their project risk assessment process.

Each year the parks hold a safety stand-down and Safety Palooza where staff is reminded to ensure that they are using risk management decisions before they engage in work activities. As parks we encourage all staff to employ operational principles at work and at home to help them either accept and mitigate risk.
