Park staff has partnered with the University of Florida Proton Therapy Institute Patient Services Department to provide ranger guided programs to cancer patients and their families.  The University of Florida Proton Therapy Institute offers cancer treatment to patients from throughout the Southeastern United States. The Institute has created a support network of programs that create a nurturing community environment for patients, their families and caregivers.

Patients coming to Kingsley Plantation are able to enjoy the fascinating history and beauty while participating in a low impact activity while maintaining access to essential facilities.  Almost every month patients, their families, and program staff visit the Plantation.  Additionally the Timucuan Preserve and other area state and local parks have been listed on the institute's website to further encourage patients to experience the peace and relaxation of nature.
