Barricades were placed immediately around Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. The Park re-opened on Sept. 12 with heightened security measures in place. Metal detectors were soon placed at the entrances to Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. Law Enforcement Rangers from around the country have been detailed to Independence NHP to help meet the increased need for law enforcement presence.
