California State Parks' PORTS Program
California State Parks Bringing the magic of the redwoods to classrooms, California State Parks' PORTS (Parks Online Rescourses for Teachers and Students) program uses video-conference technology to link students and park rangers. In existence since 2003, this distance-learning program reaches over 30,000 students per year. Aligned with sixth grade California academic content standards, students get a behind-the-scenes look at Redwood National and State Parks—from the latest canopy research to large-scale ecological restoration efforts now underway in the parks. For more information, visit PORTS official webpage at www.ports.parks.ca.gov.

Did You Know?
Common in the redwood forest, ravens often scavenge food scraps found in campgrounds. Once they find an easy food source, they constantly fly over that area in search of food. Unfortunately, they may come across a marbled murrelet nest and eat the egg or chick! Please store all food items properly.
