Vietnam Memorial Wall Moving Wall
May 21-31,1999
During this eleven day period the Vietnam Memorial Moving Wall will
be on display on the front lawn of the USS Arizona Memorial Visitor Center.
The Vietnam Veterans Memorial is located in Washington, D.C.. This moving
wall is one of the three, 1/2 scale replicas that travel throughout the
country. As of January 1, 1999 the wall lists the names of the 58,213 United
States military men and women who died in the Vietnam War between 1957
and 1975. The opening ceremony will take place at 8:00 am Friday, May 21st
and the closing ceremony will be held in conjunction with the Memorial
Day sunset ceremony at 6:00 pm on Monday, May 31, 1999. Both ceremonies
will be held on the front lawn of the USS Arizona Memorial visitor center.
The wall will be open for public viewing 24 hours a day commencing at 8:00
am on Friday, May 21st and will be closed at sunset on May 31st. The wall
was last on Oahu in 1987.
