Special Resource Study

Get Involved!

This special resource study depends on your input.

The Rim of the Valley Corridor Draft Special Resource Study and Environmental Assessment is now available for public review. The public comment period extends through June 30, 2015.

You can review our most current newsletter, Newsletter 4 for an executive summary of the draft study report and information about how you can participate.

You can send us your thoughts, and comments by letter, e-mail, or through our Planning, Environment, and Public Comment (PEPC) website http://parkplanning.nps.gov/rimofthe valley_draftreport.

A series of public meetings will be held throughout the study area in May and June 2015. In addition, an online/virtual meeting will be offered on April 21 using phone conferencing and web-based technologies. Please join us to share your thoughts about the alternatives that we have presented in the draft study report.

What to Expect - Local Public Meetings

We have planned public meetings to encourage as many participants as possible to share their thoughts and ideas. Each meeting will begin with a short presentation about the study after which participants will be able to ask clarification questions. Participants will be encouraged to share their thoughts about the draft study report findings and alternatives. Facilitators will write the comments and ideas on large paper as shared notes.

Please note that these meetings will not be conducted in a formal public hearing format. Official comments should be in writing, either as notes taken by group facilitators during one of these meetings, or submitted to us on comment forms, letters, e-mail, or entered into our online public comment system http://parkplanning.nps.gov/rimofthevalley_draftreport

Information on what to expect for the online public meeting can be found here
