Common name: Kwanzo or Kwanso Daylily Scientific name: Hemerocallis ‘Kwanzo’ Origin: Europe to China, Korea, Japan Uses: Blooms from late spring to late summer. Blooms open early in the morning and fade by dusk. Easy to care for, tolerates heat and drought. Kwanzo is the only known triploid cultivar of Daylilies. A triploid has 3 sets of chromosomes in the nucleus of a cell. It produces 3 times the number of petals. It cannot reproduce by seed, only by stolon or by division.
