If you wish to provide your own program for your school group while visiting the Park, no prior approval from the Park is required. Please consider the following when providing your own program:

  • Always ensure that your group stays on maintained trails (unless at Pelekane Beach or on the Educational field at Park Headquarters).
  • Encourage your students and adults to practice "No Trace" principles when visiting the Park.
  • Park rangers are available if you or your students have any questions.

Did You Know?

Pu'ukohola Heiau

Many of the stones on Pu'ukohola Heiau are believed to have come from Pololu Valley. It is believed that Kamehameha and his men formed a human chain approximately 25 miles long and passed the stones one person to another all the way to the temple site.
