National Park Service Web Sites Associated with American Presidents

The story of the men who served as President of the United States is much greater than just the houses where they were born, or where they lived as president, or a memorial in their honor. The story of these men is a story of American History- the birth of a nation and wars fought to defend it and assure its prosperity. Many were successful in other ventures, some were failures in almost everything they did, and not all were defined by their presidency. The National Park Service cares for more than just the homes of Presidents; it manages sites that tell the story of the events and circumstances that led these men to the presidency. Many of the sites are battlefields where future presidents fought for their country, some are sites related to the independence of the nation. The list below will help you find National Park Service sites associated with a specific president.
