Tips | Commercial Services "The
national park idea has been nurtured by each succeeding generation
of Americans. Today, across our land, the National Park System
represents America at its best. Each park contributes to a deeper
understanding of the history of the United States and our way of
life; of the natural processes which have given form to our land,
and to the enrichment of the environment in which we live." Every summer millions of Americans, as well as visitors from around the world, make a visit to at least one of America’s National Parks. There are now 391 units in a National Park System that preserves and protects many of this nations’ most valued natural and cultural areas. From the shores of Maine and Alaska to the Rocky Mountains of Colorado to the warm beaches of California and the Virgin Islands, national parks offer something for everyone.
