Email to Parks & Employees

*Permitting direct e-mail to parks from outside the NPS internal e-mail system is a decsion that is made by local park adminstrators, not the ParkNet staff. With over 12,000 unique computers generating over 900,000 hits on our Web site each week the potential for vast quantities of mail to some parks is daunting. Before we reach that goal, we must take steps to ensure that the e-mail parks receive from the public is dealt with in the same manner as all other correspondence. Not all of our parks have connections to the web or local area networks which permit speedy e-mail transmissions. Again, be assured that we are working to provide e-mail access to parks, but we want to do it in such a way as to provide good customer service while not overloading park staff who may be poorly equipped and trained to deal with this relatively new form of correspondence. If a park has chosen to make this service available a e-mail link will have been placed on the park homepage or expanded pages. If you need more specific information about a park with no e-mail link you will need to contact the park by telephone or letter.
